Our Benimar Dicar Cocoon 483 (built in 2019, but still as good as new) is the ideal compact motorhome to go on an adventure in comfort with family, friends or just the two of you. With a length of only 6599 + 400 or 900 mm (with folded or unfolded bike rack) and a width of 2313 mm, you can park or maneuver almost anywhere and with a height of 2890 mm and a maximum weight of 3500 kg over and under practically all bridges, tunnels and roads.
We chose this camper model because of the luxury of a large open seating area instead of dragging along a separate bedroom (lifting bed above table). This means you also sleep in a spacious, airy room at night. This is also one of the few campers with a rear window, which gives you the feeling of driving a regular car.
Driver's cabin:
The 170 hp Ford engine will easily take you to any destination.
Automatic transmission, cruise control, ABS, ESP, wide track axle, air conditioning, reversing camera, Autohold, navigation, DAB + FM tuner, USB and AUX audio and hands-free calling are available to guide you to your destination without any worries and to make the ride as pleasant and safe as possible. The TomTom 'Go Camper Europe' navigation takes into account the dimensions of our camper and thus avoids difficult and / or prohibited passages, is fully adjustable and takes you to almost all official camper places in Europe or in your area. In addition, it continuously warns you of local speed limits and danger zones!
Fuel: diesel + AD Blue (Euro 6b standard).
Environmental sticker for Germany and France applied, Flemish LEZs permitted.
Driving license B required (MTM = Maximum Permissible Mass of 3500 kg). There is approximately 500 kg available for all persons + equipment + luggage + fuels together. Weighing device (to be weighed per axle) available. Please take this into account, because any fines for overloading and other violations are at your own risk!
Living area:
Just behind the cabin are the table and benches. When the driver & passenger seats are turned around, a cozy large seating area is created with horizontally and vertically electrically adjustable table and seating for 5-7 people.
However, we recommend not to travel with more than 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children in order to enjoy all the comfort. With more people you will quickly become overweight and short of space.
Everything is atmospherically lit with LED spotlights. USB sockets are provided at several locations.
The television (with built-in DVD player!) works via Digitenne, Google Chromecast, WiFi, USB input and satellite.
There is also a MiFi router available that allows you to receive data via WiFi throughout the camper using your own SIM card.
Kitchen:
is equipped with a 3-burner gas stove, a sink, a separate Airfryer and induction hob, the necessary cutlery and cookware.
The large 140 L Thetford fridge with freezer compartment and separate cooling drawer for 9 bottles of 1.5 ltr switches automatically or manually from gas to electricity (220 V or 12 Volt) so that everything stays cool during the journey.
The Truma Combi heating unit works on gas or electricity 220 V and provides interior air heating and sanitary hot water. Settings and desired temperature can be operated via panel and/or app.
All windows, roof windows and access doors are fitted with insulation, insect screens and blackout.
There is a powerful turbo fan in the roof above the kitchen to ventilate/cool in both directions.
Sleeping area:
The 2-person lift bed is very easy to operate electrically variable down and up (hangs above the seating area). The bedding always stays in place, making this bed immediately available at all times.
The sitting area can also be converted into a spacious double bed, but this is cumbersome and has to be converted into a bed every morning and evening.
At the back there is a (possibly removable) transverse bed. Without this bed a larger garage is created. This rear bed (or snoring bed :-) is suitable for one adult or 2 small children and can be closed with sliding doors. Above this bed there is a clothes and storage cupboard over the full width.
The special duvets with fixed covers are cool in summer and warm in winter.
After each rental, the bed linen: mattress protector, mattress cover and decorative pillows are hygienically cleaned.
You must provide your own pillows!
Sanitary area:
The comfortable bathroom has a toilet, sink and separate shower cubicle. The plexiglass folding shower door gives an extra spacious feeling. A pull-out medicine cabinet and a sink cabinet provide ample storage space here. There is also a skylight for ventilation.
Garage:
Through 2 outside doors there is access to the garage and a wall cupboard. Here you can store a lot of luggage in addition to a camping set (dining table and aperitif table, 2 camping folding chairs and 2 luxury loungers with footrest, 20 m extension cord and 10 m water hose).
Bicycle rack:
At the rear there is a Thule bike rack mounted for a maximum of 3 bikes with a total weight of 60 kg! Any bike batteries must be transported in the vehicle and can also be charged during the ride.
Sun canopy:
Our motorhome is also equipped with a Thule retractable awning and the necessary materials to fix it in the ground.
Security:
In addition to the normal Ford car alarm, the vehicle has additionally mounted special security locks on all access doors and garage doors. In addition, there is also a smoke detector and a 3-gas alarm device that detects sleeping gases, carbon monoxide and propane/butane gases.
Equalization and stabilization:
2 Thule 3-level wheel chocks, 2 adjustable axle supports and 2 grip mats are included.
And last but not least:
An extra powerful Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) home battery has been installed (Super B Epsilon 150 Ah) as well as a powerful 12 Volt to 220 Volt alternating current 1650 Watt sine inverter, which allows free camping and the use of a Nespresso coffee maker, hairdryer, Airfryer, etc. as well as charging bicycle batteries. The solar panel on the roof and the special booster charger ensure that the home battery is quickly full of energy again.
There is also a 'NorthAutoKapp' package available, i.e. electric windscreen heating, insulated heating pipes and entry steps, heated waste water tank, isothermal window insulation cabin, automatic headlights, windscreen wiper with rain sensor and adjustable dashboard and exterior lighting. Winter tires available if desired.
