This dream camper is built - largely by ourselves - to go on an adventure. It offers luxury and comfort, even during a few days off-grid. The natural materials and warm colors provide warmth and coziness. The layout is very open, which makes you feel like you are in a small house. The camper is equipped with special games for endless entertainment…
To sleep
Two large beds are always made. The upper bed (1.40x2.00) has possibilities for refreshment via the Maxxfan Deluxe above it and via the two windows on either side. Tall people (2m) can also lie stretched out here, because there is room to extend the mattress with a pillow and because the feet can hang over.
The cozy lower bed (1.60x2.00) offers space for two adults or three young children. Here too, refreshment can come from the windows on both sides.
Both bed linen and towels as well as kitchen towels are included.
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with a two-burner ceramic hob (Wallas Duo) which works on Diesel from the main tank. Duo is in the name because it also has the function of heating. The inlet and outlet of this are completely closed and are on the outside under the camper. We had this installation done by a specialist company. In addition, there is a refrigerator with a freezer compartment and a sink with cold water tap. Kitchen utensils, plates and cutlery etc. are available. There is a hand blender, kettle and a small oven that works on the stove (brand Omnia). An extensive inventory list can be provided.
The standing height is 186 to 187 cm (entrance vs. center aisle).
Compost toilet
Under the kitchen is a comfortable compost toilet with Trobolo urine diverter, which prevents odor nuisance. There is no separate toilet room.
Sitting area
Because both the front passenger bench and the driver's seat can be rotated, a seating area for five people can be created.
There is a spacious folding table that can be easily assembled and disassembled.
In cold weather, the heated mat can be turned on under the table to keep your feet warm.
Outside
There is a 3x3m cotton tarp with high poles to create shade. Camping chairs and one or two tables are also available.
Natural materials
For the construction of the camper we used as many natural and naturally degradable materials as possible. It is insulated with sheep wool (washed, you don't smell), the plywood has less harmful glue than standard plywood, the walls are finished with cork and the wood is treated with oil or paint on a natural basis.
Storage space
There is plenty of space under the lower bed to store things. Small children's bicycles fit underneath, as well as a pram or a handcart. This space is accessible from the inside via the bed bases that can be raised. Large items can be taken via the rear doors. See also the photos.
In addition, there is a spacious storage compartment above the first row of seats, where clothes can be stored, for example.
After consultation, it is possible to transport two adult bicycles in the aisle, provided they are properly protected and secured.
Weight and consumption
Travelling with five adults or as a family with three older children is not possible, given the limited weight that can be taken along in addition to the (very complete) inventory. This may sound strange, since the title states that the camper is light. But from experience we know that most campers that advertise with a B driving license actually drive around with a weight higher than 3500 kg. Even though the registration certificate states a weight well below this maximum, after adding accessories, inventory, people and personal luggage, most camper owners exceed this - consciously or unconsciously. The result is that you think you are well insured, while the insurance does not pay out in the event of damage (think of an accident).
That is why we advise our renters to ask in advance about the delivery weight of the camper. In the case of Blueberry, that is 3140 kg. This means that a family with two adults and three young children of average weight can pack the camper without any worries.
Blueberry's consumption is 1/11.3, which is very economical for a large camper.
Also nice to know
The power supply is a separate package that includes two solar panels, an inverter and a battery. This does not affect the battery of the engine system. If desired, the camper can be connected to a power pole, for which cables are available.
Both in the kitchen and in the sitting area there are sockets (12V and 220V). The 220 can be used for devices that require little power, such as a laptop. Devices that require more power may only be used when the camper is connected to shore power, to prevent the battery from being drained. Think of heat sources, such as the kettle.
It remains camping: for a hot shower you have to wait until the sun has heated the water in the black bag... coffee can be made with a percolator or back-to-basics by 'opgieten'...
The four large windows come with mosquito netting or blackout (see photo). The front windows have insulation, which blocks the sun in the summer and keeps the heat in during the winter. It also provides privacy.
There is a second Maxxfan above the seating area. By turning the two on at the same time, on low setting, active ventilation can be created. One fan blows and the other extracts, so that there is always fresh air. To prevent noise pollution while driving, there is an insulation panel for the front Maxxfan.
Insurance
We have taken out camper insurance with Univé, which also covers use by renters. In addition to WA and fully comprehensive, passenger insurance and breakdown assistance at home and abroad are included (for countries on the green card).
If the camper is declared a total loss, stolen or has suffered such (covered) damage that it cannot be repaired before the start of the holiday (planned within 30 days), or the holiday has to be interrupted, a replacement holiday home will be reimbursed (max. 21 days and € 35 per person per night).
The exact policy conditions of the Univé camper insurance will be sent to you upon request. These are comparable to the policy conditions of the Goboony day insurance.
The camper is equipped with all-season tires that were renewed in 2022/2023.
The amenities state that there is a gas stove with gas bottle. This refers to our hob as described in the kitchen.
The location in Havelte is easily accessible by public transport.
In consultation, much is possible, such as adjusting the pick-up and drop-off times. Ask your question and we will do our best!
