Hello camper,
How nice that you are interested in our camper!
In 2022 we rented a camper for the first time through Goboony and made a trip. Fantastic what freedom. After the first stop we looked at each other and said "We want this too"!
In July 2023 we bought our 2012 Laika. A semi-integrated,
built on a Fiat Ducato chassis, with a 2.3 JTD diesel engine with now 180 hp and 420 Nm of torque (tuned).
This met all our requirements and what a good decision we made here. Trial weekends away to try everything out and what else do we need.
In September of that year we traveled through France with it. Because of our work a little less than two weeks but it felt like much longer. And as the platform already indicates, there are too many campers standing still and so also ours. A shame, because it is a fantastic vehicle to go on the road with. If you want to know if "camping" is something for you/you, we have decided, after thinking about it very carefully, to rent ours. After all, we also got "infected" in this way.
Our motto is that the destination is the journey itself. We don't do hour-long drives. That's not the camper life. Leaving in the morning and already at the next location around lunchtime, yes.
So, for example, driving to southern Spain or Italy and back in two or three weeks is simply not okay.
We like modern technology and safety and have already made some adjustments such as;
- replaced the outdated audio with a double DIN audio system with Apple and Android CarPlay.
- a TomTom Go Camper Max navigation system, in which the dimensions of the camper have been entered, so that (if all goes well) narrow streets and low viaducts are avoided.
- a new DuoControl gas regulator with crash sensor built in, so you can now drive safely with the gas tap open and the refrigerator running on gas. Very handy if you stop on the way to do groceries for example.
- have a MaxxFan installed. Great for extracting cooking fumes or blowing in fresh air. Top device. And this can also be on while driving because it works on 12v.
In 2024, the 150-liter Dometic refrigerator will also be replaced by a brand new one with a door that can be opened from both sides.
- In April 2025, new alloy wheels with Michelin Crossclimate all-weather tires were fitted.
Did we mention there's a satellite dish on the roof?
A digital smart card from Canal Digitaal can be activated for the entire journey if desired.
But in April 2025 we also installed a new Google TV. All kinds of apps installed and can be viewed via wifi. This works very well, so we are considering removing the satellite dish, because it is quite heavy.
At the beginning of 2025, we also purchased a Starlink Mini. Abroad, not only is the camping internet bad, but the entire accessibility often leaves much to be desired. With internet via satellite, this is a thing of the past. We can then make the Starlink Mini available to you during the trip. You pay the subscription cost per month of €72 for this.
We also have a JBL Bluetooth speaker, various plugs with iPhone lightning, micro-USB and USB-C cables as standard in the camper.
Surely enough for all your devices.
In addition, our Nespresso and fairly complete inventory may also come with you.
In short, the camper is ready to travel with you!
What to bring:
duvets, covers, pillows, pillowcases, fitted sheets, towels and kitchen textiles.
Two gas bottles of 7.5 and 5kg each are weighed upon departure and again upon return. Or 2 of 5 kg (whatever you prefer). What you have used is charged and paid upon return.
You will receive the camper with a full fuel tank (90 liters of diesel).
When returning the car, you also need to ensure that the fuel tank is full. (24/7 petrol station less than 1,500 metres from our house).
The camper will also be delivered to you clean on the inside. You don't have to clean the outside!
We also expect to receive the camper back clean on the inside, with an empty and cleaned toilet cassette.
When you leave, we will go through an inventory list of the camper together. When you return, we will go through this list again.
Damage, defect, breakdown or anything to the camper itself must be reported to us immediately. This way we can assess whether the next rental period is in danger or not.
Finally; pick up and return in consultation. Do not pay attention to the standard times of Goboony. You can pick up our camper in the morning and on the day we return in the afternoon.
The returned camper cannot therefore be set off again the same day.
You could say it costs us a rental day, but we find service and
It is more important to make the camper ready for the next renter at our leisure.
Will and Gerda
PS. We would like to refer to the rental conditions again here and clearly state that due to the heavy basic weight of the camper, we cannot agree with Austria as a transit country and as a destination.
