NB!
This camper is especially interesting if you are specifically looking for one of the things that makes this camper special:
1) a large rear carrier, suitable for SCOOTMOBILE, scooter, light motorcycle, or 4 electric bicycles.
2) a 2p pop-up hardcover roof tent which makes this camper suitable for going on holiday with 2 teenagers. (ours really don't want to sleep in a 2p bed together anymore, but almost fight over who gets to stay in the 'penthouse'.)
For 'normal' applications the camper is not so interesting because the rental price is quite high. That is a deliberate choice. If I were to offer the camper for the 'competitive' price advised by Goboony, it would mean that outside the high season (when we often go on the road for 4 to 5 weeks) I would receive less than half of what the renter pays to Goboony in rental price. After deducting a Goboony day insurance of almost 30 euros per day and the commission that Goboony charges, there are a few tens of euros per day left. For that, and because of the time that is involved anyway, it is not interesting to rent out via Goboony (unless for a really long period). Therefore: for the enthusiast who is looking for something special:
Older, but very robust, neat, spacious and cozy camper with a very complete inventory.
Very suitable for touring with two (or even wintering). But also suitable as a family camper, up to max 4 people: a separate bedroom with sliding door with a spacious 2p fixed bed, 1 or 2 sleeping places when folding down the dining table, and on the roof a 2p (pop-up) roof tent. (Due to 2 teenagers with us who no longer want to sleep next to each other in a 2p bed :-) )
The camper has a heavy carrier that is suitable for 4(!) electric or regular bicycles, a light motorcycle or scooter(s) or even a mobility scooter. That carrier can also be removed, for example for rental where ferries are used.
On top, the camper has roof racks, for example for a surfboard or canoe. At the moment, the aforementioned roof tent is there (called the 'penthouse' by us), but it can also be removed for long-term rental. The roof tent is a 2p pop-up hardcover roof tent. A fairly thick case with gas springs, so easy to set up and fold. In the tent a comfortable mattress of 140 wide, and you can simply leave your sleeping gear there when folding it up. With a foldable safe railing to get on and off the roof.
The camper is equipped with an oven and microwave (only with shore power), a bathroom/toilet (with a shower where you can shower if you really have to). Well maintained, with recently a new bluetooth radio (2022), a number of new windows (2022), a new 4m wide awning (2023) new battery (2024), a new 2p mattress (2024), and new tires (2025).
Of course it remains a somewhat older camper, with traces of use and instructions, and without the luxury of a new camper, but certainly a very nice camper that has already brought us and many tenants to all corners of Europe. In the summer of 2024 we ourselves went with 5p and 2 dogs more than 10,000 km to Norway and the North Cape without any problems.
Some considerations for this camper:
- The camper has been given a stronger and newer 2.5l diesel engine in 2019 with little on the counter. Not fast (max 110 km/h), but strong. Comes above everything, but is not really suitable for a holiday with mainly steep Alpine passes. Fairly economical, with a consumption between 1 in 10 to 1 in 12.
- The camper has a normal view to the rear through the rearview mirror due to the old-fashioned low bed with large rear window. (Modern campers now have the bed in the back very high). The camper therefore has no reversing camera.
- The camper is very suitable for people who have difficulty walking, due to a low entry, the low bed in the back, and the possibility of taking a mobility scooter or, for example, an adapted bicycle. (max. 75 cm wide).
- The camper has a tow bar and can tow a maximum of 1500 kg, but this cannot be combined with the multi-purpose rear carrier.
- With this camper you have to find out for yourself whether there are environmental zones in the countries/cities you want to go to where the camper is not allowed. The camper is an older diesel for which you do not get an environmental sticker. But on the other hand, in some countries like Germany it already has a vintage status due to its age and therefore does not suffer from environmental zones. Never been a problem for us, because city centers are not that suitable for campers (mainly due to parking problems). When we go on a city trip, we always camp on the edge of the city and take public transport from there. There are also apps with all environmental zones in Europe.
EXTRA OPTION for this camper:
- bed linen service.
The camper is equipped with clean and fresh and moltons/mattress protectors and sheets as standard, you do not have to bring these yourself. But for 25 euros per person per week extra you can also rent fresh summer duvets (1x2p and 2x1p), pillows, covers and towels that we will then wash for you.
RENTAL PERIOD
In high season (May holiday + July/August) the camper can only be rented for a minimum of 1 week, but longer bookings are preferred. In the pre- and post-season (September to October, and April to June) the minimum rental period is set at 5 days/nights. In low season (November to March) the camper can only be rented in consultation. This has to do with the fact that the camper may have to be taken out of storage and put back in the road tax, while the 'revenue' due to low season rates, the Goboony commission and the daily insurance of almost 30 euros per day is then minimal.
However, in consultation in the low season with a really longer booking (say at least 2 months, e.g. overwintering) much is possible regarding the price. If necessary, the camper can be driven to a destination for a fee. Send a message for more information and consultation.
We are very happy with our camper and have invested quite a bit of money, time and energy in recent years to make it and keep it to our liking. We therefore expect renters to treat it carefully and normally, and only rent it out if we have a good feeling about the prospective renters. Conversely, we expect prospective renters to come and view the camper before booking and possibly take a test drive, to see if the camper meets their expectations.
