We are now almost finished. Kitchen unit completely to our satisfaction.
It is just a little different than I had thought beforehand. Bed/sofa is extendable but not as far as I would have liked. Couples who are very sweet and not too heavily built will find it fine. But 105 cm is a very small doubter. Is what it is. Probably better suited for one person.
Canopy is also not a cassette but a separate canopy with a rail in the gutter where canopy can be slid. 250 extension with the option to attach two side canopies. Nice under a canopy when it rains.
Engine-wise it is still a great car. The Mercedes Viano has had a new MOT, new tires and a major service and everything that was not right is now tiptop.
First I had the seat upholstery redone and both seats made rotatable. Now only the passenger seat because the electrics are behind the driver's seat. They now really have the leather Mercedes look. Also a nice and good din2 multimedia built in. Expanded with subwoofer and two speakers in the back and a button so you also have radio when the engine is off. Very easy to connect to your phone via USB. So you also have Maps and Spotify or whatever other service you have. Radio also has dab+
A new 160ah battery that is charged via CEE connection and engine. Works perfectly. Good for at least 4 days off grid.
My personal plan is to leave for Portugal sometime in 2026. When and for how long is still a question mark.
- kitchen unit of 180 cm and 70 cm high. In it refrigerator of Dometic 85ltr (gas/12v/220v), gas stove 2 burners, water with sink with kitchen cabinets underneath and gas bottle/10 ltr water clean and dirty
- at the very back, near the tailgate, a higher cupboard of 110cm for clothes and other storage items
- other side the bed/sofa. Total 190 by 70. Extendable to 105cm
- passenger seat is rotatable, folding table and you have a nice seat.
- there will be no upper cabinets
- tilting bicycle stand for two bicycles
The Viano drives great, nice heavy engine, automatic with cruise control. So you can relax while driving. Has a lifting roof so you can also stand in the bus. Good sound from the speakers and enough contact points for USB and if you are connected via CEE connection also sockets for 220. Mood lighting in the form of dim led lamps and twilight led 12v. Two reading lamps.
Now all that's left is curtains and some felting here and there and it'll be completely finished.
Not for rent to festival goers.
