De Rode Smurf is our camper, family with 3 children, which we like to use during a number of school holidays to discover all the beautiful places in Europe. I rarely use it outside of the holidays, which is why I now also rent it out.
I dared to buy the camper because the old owner already rented out his camper regularly, because then you can be sure that everything works. And so that is also the case. The refrigerator, stove and gas stove all work very well. The camper is also very reliable.
I chose a Ford Nugget because this is one of the few campers that you can drive with 5 people (and sleep when the children are still quite small) and where you can still park in regular parking spaces.
The Red Smurf is already 22 years old. That's why it's not super nice on the outside anymore. But we have never had any problems with that. Especially because inside everything still works and is beautiful.
There are 2 disadvantages to an older camper.
1: This is that the diesel engine makes quite a lot of noise, but that is why I have also used a nice radio that can play my music or audio books via Bluetooth.
2: There is no air conditioning in the camper. This may be annoying in very hot weather, but we have never had any problems with it. For cold weather there is a very well-functioning parking heater so that you can also camp when it is freezing outside.
We also still use the camper, so the camper is fully furnished. In consultation it can be agreed what we leave in the camper or what we take out. Think of chairs for outside, a table, cutlery, plates, pans, kettle, oven, flashlight, bluetooth speaker, etc.
The camper is also equipped with a small awning that you can attach to the camper. But we rarely use it.
Are you going on holiday with five people and do you want to use an extra tent, just like us? We also have one that can be used, except during the summer holidays. Because then we take our folding trailer and extra tent with us.
When you rent the camper you will receive a nice explanation from us and a manual on how everything works.
