Ollie – On an adventure with a cool oldtimer '76

Because we want to share all the love that this friendly camper evokes (and to be honest, we want to keep this hobby alive), we offer our incredibly nice old-timer camper, which we have baptized Ollie, for rent. We have been out a number of times with Ollie and have thoroughly enjoyed and dreamed wonderfully in the top bunk and we would like to share this enjoyment with others.

You really imagine yourself back in beautiful 1976 from the moment you turn the key. The previously famous petrol V-4 engine starts almost immediately and the advantages of the large steering wheel become apparent during the first bends. You quickly surrender to the unhurried character of the seventies. A young man puts the garbage on the sidewalk and freezes when he sees Ollie. With a jealous smile from ear to ear and with both hands in the air, he forms a heart with his fingers. He certainly comes from a different year than Ollie, yet it seems as if he longs for the brash time of 50 years ago. This is the first of today, but you know there will be more to come, so much fun!

In the morning, waiting for the gas oven to heat up, you pour your filter coffee, a fresh glass of mint tea for your loved one, the sun shines brightly through the crack in the curtain. Hey, but this is where we saw the sun setting last night, right? Take the fresh gravy and eggs from the refrigerator. Then you think: "I think the sandwiches can go in now." Bring on the day!

What will be today's destination?
Past the tulip fields to the Gouwe Stek in Bovenkarspel, and a visit to the Zuiderzee museum or Fairytale Wonderland in neighboring Enkhuizen? Or would you prefer the Minicampsite in Twisk, to explore the area in the coming days, with a tour of Radbout Castle, and take a ride on the Hoorn-Medemblik Steam Tram? And perhaps Camperplaats de Pekelharinghaven is just what you are looking for, walking to the city center of Medemblik, with its endless terraces, live music and atmospheric bars.
But wait... I don't really want to do anything for a while... Lose yourself in a good book at the Arienstocht campsite in Onderdijk, enjoy a wonderful paddle-boarding session watching the sun rise on the adjacent ripple-free lake 'De Grote Vliet' or chill out on one of the charming campsites.

In consultation, we can provide a bicycle carrier, so that you can discover the places on the cobbled roads of Opperdoes that you missed with the camper and buy a bag of Opperdoezer Ronde along the way. Or for a brisk trip to the Cheese Market in Alkmaar.
Either way: the vast expanse of West Friesland is at your feet.

Ollie provides the most important basic needs. We list a few: Attractive furnishings, running water, refrigerator with freezer (230V), 3-burner stove with gas oven, 2.5 sleeping places (2 adults + 1 child), linen/towels on request, a porta-potti, sufficient cupboard space, games, enough kitchen utensils and some basic spices, folding chairs and table for outside under the tarp or awning, lighting on 12V, and for the needy: a double USB connection ;-)
