Enjoy camping in a beautiful vintage car!
The holiday starts as soon as you get behind the wheel. You drive calmly to your destination, while you see happy faces all around you.
At the campsite you are amazed at how much space and cleverness was built into the compact bus 50 years ago. A kitchen, a bed, storage space, it's all there. Camping as it was meant to be.
The camper is 50 years old, but it still keeps up well in traffic. And because it is an automatic (indeed, from 1974, but with automatic), it also drives extra easily. Technically, the camper has been fully restored, with overhaul of engine, automatic, brakes: the last thing you want is to stand still on the road. The bus has driven thousands of kilometers in a summer holiday period without any problems: from the mountains in Switzerland, the fjords of Norway, to the forests of Germany. And if that happens, the camper is also well insured.
Interior is still the historical Westfalia interior. My goal is to keep this original, and during maintenance is always looking for replacement original or similar replica parts. This way the bus keeps its charm.
The bodywork has some spots, but has already been partly restored. If you look closely, you can see some rust and damage spots at the front. This gives the bus charm and character. In the coming years, the proceeds from the rental will be used to restore this as well, so that the bus can last another 50 years.
Practical: downstairs the bench can be folded out into a bed. This has a width of about 1.20. Upstairs, with the hood folded open, a bed of 1.10 can be made. This way up to four people can sleep in the camper.
During the ride, 4 to 5 people can sit in the bus. On the back seat of the bus, you can sit with 3 people, there are belts for 2 people. This is because the year of construction of the bus is before the belt legislation.
The bus has a gas stove and a refrigerator. This is the original refrigerator, so don't expect too much space, but it will keep your groceries cool on a hot summer day.
The bus comes with folding chairs and an outside table, a box with cutlery, plates, etc., and a few pans. Bring your own tea towels and duvet covers.
During high season (July 6 to September 1) only weekly rental. Outside of that rental for at least 2 nights. And do you find the color too dark? I also have a light green T2 from 1976. Just because such a bus is so much fun!
If you are interested, it is also possible to come by first to view the bus.
