Our beautiful Pössl Vario 545 campervan (nicknamed Vario Smurf) is a true space saver. It's extra luxurious and fully equipped. No hassle with folding out or converting beds: the four fixed beds are always ready. No cramped porta-potties, but a proper bathroom. And the numerous cozy lights throughout the campervan complete the picture. It also features solar panels, navigation, a tow bar, two reversing cameras, and the largest bed you'll find in a campervan.
At 5.45 meters long, it's highly maneuverable and can take you places those large, wide campervans can't, like rustic French towns or narrow English roads. It has room for four people to sit safely with three-point seat belts and four more to sleep in. The green "Umweltplakette" (Environmental Safety Plaque) allows you to enter all German cities.
The car has a smooth 150 hp engine and is equipped with air conditioning, navigation, Bluetooth, power windows, airbags, and a 6-speed gearbox. The reversing camera allows you to reverse safely without damage. It automatically activates when you engage reverse gear – quite handy for a campervan. There's also a second camera that you can activate while driving, allowing you to see the road behind you at a glance – essentially a digital rearview mirror. This way, you know what's behind you.
The front seats can be swiveled towards the table, creating a cozy seating area for four people. Above the seating area is a large skylight. All four windows and the two skylights are equipped with insect screens and blackout blinds that are easy to operate. No more hassle with curtains. Even in the cabin: you can simply close the pleated blinds on the windshield and side windows in three seconds.
The sleeping area is divided into two sections. In the front, there's a huge fold-down bed above the seating area, measuring 1.7 m wide and 2.1 m long. Unprecedentedly large in such a small campervan. When the bed is folded down, the seating area below remains accessible. In the rear is the children's sleeping area, which can be closed off from the rest of the vehicle by two doors. The lower bed is large enough for an adult, measuring 1.94 m long and 0.74 m wide. The upper bed is a child's bed, measuring 1.67 m long and 0.67 m wide. The safety net prevents a child from falling out.
The bathroom is located between the rear sleeping area and the kitchen and, in addition to a toilet with an 18-litre reservoir, also contains a sink, wardrobe, space for 2 gas bottles and an (emergency) shower.
The living area and kitchen are filled with cupboards. A total of 12 cupboards offer ample storage for everything the four of you could want to take on holiday. Besides a wall unit, there are also cupboards with shelves. The main cupboards feature convenient and atmospheric warm yellow automatic LED lighting, so you don't have to search by touch in the dark. In the rear, there's a large storage space under the beds. This "garage" is equipped with LED lighting that automatically turns on when you open the rear doors. No need to search by touch. There's also an atmospheric warm white LED entry light that turns on automatically with the sliding door, making it easier to get in.
The two rear beds can optionally be removed, creating a huge, high garage. This allows you to transport two (expensive) bicycles INSIDE the campervan (though the front wheels will need to be removed). It's also possible to transport two surfboards upright. Endless possibilities, hence the name Vario Smurf.
The kitchen features a 90-liter refrigerator with a 10-liter freezer compartment and a three-burner gas stove. The kitchen tap provides hot and cold running water. The combi boiler provides a generous supply of hot water at 60 degrees Celsius for washing. There are both 80-liter fresh water and 80-liter waste water tanks. The 3m x 2.5m awning offers comfortable seating.
Thanks to its insulation, this campervan is suitable for both summer and winter use: it stays cool longer in summer and warm longer in winter. The Truma Combi heater/boiler runs on gas and keeps the campervan comfortably warm. For bookings of two weeks or longer, two 5kg gas bottles are included, at least one of which is full. Gas is included in the price; there's no extra charge. The campervan is equipped with all-season tires that are also suitable for the winter season.
In the summer, this campervan in Southern Europe is self-sufficient in terms of power thanks to two 200-watt solar panels that charge the two household batteries. This offers additional possibilities for beautiful spots near cities or for free-standing camping in nature. In southern holiday destinations, you'll have enough sun to top up the batteries daily. Otherwise, you can, of course, plug it into a 230-volt power outlet at a campsite or campervan site. For smaller consumers (up to 250 watts), there's an inverter that provides 230-volt Pure Sine Wave power during free-standing camping.
Equipment: The camper comes with four luxury chairs and a camping table, a complete kitchen with pots, plates, bowls, cups, and cutlery, two ramps, and a 20-meter cable for connecting to 230 volts.
The sliding door is equipped with a Pössl soft-lock system that automatically closes the door. No more annoying other campers with the door slamming shut.
The campervan is equipped with a swivel TV screen and an automatic (self-aligning) satellite dish. This allows you to receive free Free-to-Air channels. DVDs can also be played on it. The campervan is equipped with a safe for valuables and a mini GPS tracker. It is also fitted with a Construct gearbox lock to prevent theft.
You must bring your own bedding such as a duvet, duvet cover, pillow, and pillowcase. You don't need to bring your own mattress covers; we'll provide them clean. The mattresses are fitted with a comfortable mattress protector and a clean mattress cover.
Using a bike rack (on the tow bar) is only possible upon request. A rack for two bikes is available. Unfortunately, we do have to charge a double deposit in that case, as we know from experience that damaged rear doors cost many times the deposit to repair.
All relevant functions are clearly explained in comprehensive manuals. These are printed in color in the campervan and are also sent to the renter as a PDF well before the trip to help you prepare. We are also always available by phone to answer questions, even in the evenings.
We prefer renters with some camper or bus driving experience.
