Our camper has been self-converted over the course of two years using as many recycled & up-cycled materials as possible. It really is one of a kind, a labour of love and can hold all the essentials for weekend trips away.
About our conversion - Diesel, manual, 2006 Mercedes-Vito:
Note: This is a 20 year old van - so naturally, she will have some quirks.
She is really well looked after but to factor in her old age, we feel she is competitively priced.
We put a lot of thought into the design, interior and components that go towards the overall camping experience. :)
It's a nice compact size so driving it does not feel like you are driving a massive van, perfect for exploring Cornwall with its notoriously tiny streets...!
What's included:
• We now have an electric hookup cable!!
• Our off-the-grid power comes from our Jackery Explorer 500W unit, (NOT a leisure battery) which we've found is more than enough power for our essentials over the course of a few days. Can also charge up via hook-up at camping sites.
• The L-Shape sofa in the daytime pulls out into a full-size, small double bed.
• There is an in-built sink with water supply plus grey water container.
• There is an electric cool box that can be powered by the Jackery (also provide ice packs)
• Camping travel-shower included (solar heated!)
• The van is very well insulated - walls, floor and windows. We do not have water tank insulation. We don't have a heater but we've camped in December and found it comfortably warm with two.
• There is plenty of storage space under the bed or in our self-built wall storage.
• Two 'kitchen' drawers at the back;
• & fold-down small table.
What we can provide:
• 2 x towels
• Bedding for two (pillows, a flat sheet and a double duvet)
• Blankets
• A camping kettle, cooking pot and frying pan
• Mugs, plastic plates, bowls, cutlery sets, cups x 4
• Chopping board, Cooking knives and utensils
• 2 x Camping chairs and a picnic mat
• Windscreen and cabin-windows insulated blinds.
• Camping stove and spare gas canisters.
• Washing up equipment
• and tea towel.
If you have any questions about booking out our van, please get in touch.
We live very centrally in Falmouth, about a 10 minute walk from the train station there so pick-up and drop-off is really easy.
Thanks!
