If freedom, adventure, fun and the opportunity to make unique memories in inspiring places is what you are looking for then we would love to help make it happen. We are located in North Cumbria - an ideal gateway to the beautiful Lake District (our van is named after Haystacks, a fell in the Buttermere Valley), Scotland (NC500), Northumberland (do the N250) or visit Yorkshire.
Haystacks is a Citroen Relay L4H3, custom-built to be well equipped for the wilderness as well as a campsite, giving you all the space (and more!) to enjoy an adventure on the road with up to four people. Haystacks truly is a "home away from home".
Haystacks can be used all year round so whatever the weather you will keep cosy and warm, or use the awning (Fiamma F45s) to shade from the sun, whilst the MaxxAir Deluxe fan ensures great ventilation on warmer days. Being able to go fully off-grid is a real perk - it is a fully electric van (Victron), inclusive of 3 roof solar panels and a diesel and electric powered heating system (Truma Combi D4E). There will be no worries about forgetting to turn off the gas and little need to connect to campsite hook ups! There is plenty of storage so you can stock up on supplies and pack for all weathers and activities, allowing you to go off the beaten track for longer.
Cook up a storm on the Thetford 2 Ring induction hob, or even use the in-built microwave for a quick meal or to heat up your leftovers that can be stored in the 50L fridge/freezer. After a dip in the sea, loch or lake you can benefit from our 90L water tank with an outside shower to hose down the sand, or a welcomed warm indoor shower to refresh after a day on the fells. Then at bedtime, the U-shaped sofa/dining area converts into a full-size double and another double bed lowers from the ceiling and rest assured the bed set-up can accommodate four adults.
Disconnecting from technology is one of the best parts of van life but for those who want or need it we provide free WiFi so you can have some home comforts, or it will allow you to rent the van and work remotely with the added bonus of waking up to a unique view before starting a day’s work (sounds pretty good)! On those rainy nights you could even set up a projector to watch a movie. Oh, and don't forget there is a Thule 2-bike rack so bring your bikes giving you the option to explore wherever you end up.
We hope this excites you and please contact us if you have any questions about hiring Haystacks.
BOOKING NOTE: Rentals are for a minimum of 7 days/6 nights with pick up Saturday mornings from 8am and drop off by Friday 12noon. Please send us a message to discuss your plans.
