Pearl – Fabulous 2 berth Swift Rio 310

How many details have to fall in alignment for the trip of a lifetime... a long-awaited bucket list vacation... for it to come together successfully? I ask that to start by admitting that there's a great deal of hope and blind trust that goes in to renting someone else's caravan from 4000+ miles away... sight unseen... except for the pictures provided online. We selected Pearl (Jan's caravan) because it checked all the boxes of convenience, while still being modest in size. Discussions began and Jan was so pleasant and helpful from the beginning. I must also add that it's just as difficult/skeptical for her to loan her caravan to someone she's never met and trusting them to appreciate and take care of her property. As time went by and the travel dates came closer, Jan was gracious and provided videos of the caravan systems and hookups, which we saved btw for reference while on the road. PEARL was perfect, just as had been presented which was a relief itself. Jan took ample time to explain all we needed to know and was patient with our questions and providing informative answers as well. We then spent the next 12 days touring Scotland... beginning in Glasgow and making our way to Skye, Durness, John O'Groats, Inverness, Edinburgh and dozens of other places in between (Glencoe, Glenshiels, Gairloch, Ben Eighe, Kilchurn, Kintail, Smoo Cave, Tain, Aberlour, Stirling, Duntulm, Achmelvich, on and on...). What a relief to know that we needn't worry about our transportation as PEARL was solid and sound... and up to the task for the entire trip. For those couples looking for a perfectly sized caravan for 2 to tour Scotland... this is it. Anything larger, as we discovered, would have prevented us from accessing many of the places we were able to enjoy due to PEARL's perfect size. All the conveniences of home in a perfectly compact caravan that accommodated even me (6'4"/280#). And as for Jan... I just can't say enough good things about her and feel like not only did we enjoy Scotland, but our first contact (Jan) was perfectly delightful and perhaps even made a friend... an unexpected yet truly wonderful surprise. Thank you Jan for trusting us and greatly appreciate you and PEARL both. We couldn't have possibly asked for more, yet you and your warm hospitality delivered beyond our greatest expectations. For those couples looking for a perfectly sized caravan for 2 to tour Scotland... this is it. We had an amazing experience renting Pearl. It was incredibly cosy, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully equipped with everything we could possibly need. From cooking essentials like oil, salt, and pepper to a great selection of tea and coffee, every little detail was covered to make our trip comfortable. Driving Pearl was a dream—smooth, easy to handle, and perfect for both short trips and longer adventures. It truly felt like a home away from home. We wouldn’t hesitate to rent Pearl again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a hassle-free motorhome experience. January 2025

Thanks to Jan we couldn’t have been happier about our experience as a couple of motorhome first-timers! From start to finish she provided a top quality customer experience, from handling the booking process, the pick-up and simple pre trip info videos about the “how to’s” including filling-up with fresh water, dealing with waste water, setting the heating controls etc. the motorhome was immaculately clean and full of nice touches that only an experienced professional would think of, for example oven trays in pillowcases so they don’t rattle as you drive! An electric kettle as well as the traditional gas option, if you want a quick whistle-free cuppa, while your partner snoozes! Starter pack items for the essentials, milk, bottled water, salt n pepper, fairy liquid et al. The star of the show “Pearl” is an extremely well featured, thought-out top range motorhome, everything is quality, has a purpose and WORKS! The only hiccup was when I had a senior moment and couldn’t find the hose to top up the water tank. I only looked with my eyes and not with my hands🙄, forgetting it’s a collapsible hose and therefore in a Tesco bag, not in a blue Ikea bag 😊 Jan to the rescue via a WhatsApp text TQ. We loved our 4 days away, a real adventure, we caught the bug, even to the point of googling different van layouts and discussing the pro’s and con’s of each. Initially we looked at numerous vendors, but Jan’s previous reviews stood-out from the crowd, as providing a quality motorhome and top-notch customer support, we too can now vouch for that, including posting back the left behind pair of shoes.! Had an awesome experience renting Janice’s motor home, Pearl. The RV was super clean, well-maintained, and really easy to drive. We didn’t run into any problems at all. Janice was great—she sent us videos beforehand to make sure we were ready and was always available if we had any questions. Overall, it was a smooth and easy trip thanks to her. Pearl was such a joy! Drives really easily, even for someone with limited Campervan experience! In addition to the great driving the all round package with a fantastically equipped van that had everything we could have ever wanted while still not feeling stuffed was great! It was brilliant renting Jan's motorhome. It's an excellent size for two people, incredibly clean and simple to operate everything inside. Jan and Russ made themselves available if we needed them during the week and were lovely, kind hosts. What a fantastic motorhome to take us up to the Highlands. Kitted out with everything we needed to have a comfortable few days away, the owners had thought about all the detail. Even before we arrived to pick up the motorhome we established great comms, with all questions answered virtually immediately. On arriving to pick up Pearl (motorhome) we were met by Jan who took the time and effort to walk us around the motorhome and explain the layout and how things worked. Immaculate inside and out with some personal touches to make our getaway even more so special. Great driving experience, very economical to drive and handled the Scottich Isles roads with ease.
