From the very first day of our rental, several key features advertised for the campervan did not work properly, and unfortunately these problems lasted throughout the entire trip.
Bluetooth and Navigation – Both were advertised as included, but neither worked at any point during our journey.
Shower and Hot Water – The shower was clogged from the start, and there was no consistent hot water. The very little hot water that came out lasted less than a minute, making it impossible to take a proper shower. The shower drain was also dirty, containing hair from the previous user, which was unhygienic. In addition, water leaked from the shower into the van. We were forced to heat water in a pot and wash ourselves in very uncomfortable conditions.
Refrigerator – The fridge had a strong bad smell due to poor cleaning before our rental, and it barely cooled at all. As a result, we couldn’t store food safely and were unable to use it.
Charging Devices – We were unable to properly charge our phones and other devices. Every time we connected them to the van’s sockets, the battery would quickly drop, an alarm would sound, and we had to unplug them. This meant we were never able to charge our devices during the trip.
When we picked up the van, the owner (Oliver) was not present and instead sent John to hand over the vehicle. John was polite and helpful, and he tried to fix the hot water issue, but unfortunately the problems were never resolved. The official check-in process, as required by your procedures, was not properly completed by the owner.
These issues directly affected several basic needs—washing, storing food, navigation, and charging devices—which were clearly advertised as part of the rental. I have photographs and WhatsApp conversations with John that document the problems, as well as proof that I was instructed to contact him for any issues.
Given the significant impact on the comfort and quality of our trip, I believe a partial refund is fair and reasonable. While I appreciated John’s efforts, the fact remains that several advertised features were not delivered, and our experience was far from what we paid for.
