My aim is to provide a fantastic time for you and I will help you in any way I can.

Gandalf is our VW Transporter T6 Camper and it is ready to hire for your adventure. Visit Scotland in style. This van is perfect for driving the NC500!

Gandalf is so named because the great grey wizard of The Hobbit was at his best when on a travelling adventure.

It is possible to arrange to pick up and drop off the van on the tram line from Edinburgh airport. Providing flight times are ok for me to get to Edinbugh. Just ask though. I'll see if I can help out.

I have a few books that I can lend you for your travels that might help you to find those 'wild places' away from the crowds.

Sleeping

Our camper can accommodate 4 people; 2 up in the pop – top with 3 zip up windows from which to enjoy the views, and 2 on the fold down double bed. Blackout blinds, windscreen insulation and touch sensitive LED lighting create a lovely cosy environment.

Eating

The kitchen area has a sink, double gas burner cooker and a grill. There is a fridge with a freezer box, waste bin and a fold away table. The double front seat swivels around to allow 4 people to sit comfortably using the table for a meal. A whistling kettle, a selection of pans and all kitchen utensils should provide you with everything required to prepare meals, snacks and drinks throughout your holiday. A 10m electric hook-up lead is supplied for use at a campsite.

Insurance

Your hire comes with fully comprehensive cover. Please note the details below. The driver must:
Be aged between 23 and 75 years old.
Be a full UK or EU licence holder for at least 2 years
Have had no more than 2 convictions with a maximum of 3 points per conviction
Not have been involved in more than 1 fault incident within the last 3 years.

Prior to hiring, each driver will need to email me a few things:
1a. If UK resident: A vehicle licence check code (obtainable from DVLA valid for 21 days)
1b. If non-UK resident, please let me know if you have any endorsements on your licence
2. A photo of their driving licence front and back
3. 3 proofs of address dated within 90 days of hire (bank or credit card statement, council tax bill, utility bill, mortgage statement, P60 etc).
Once your booked, I’ll send you my email address and we can sort all of this out.

Living

There is plenty clever storage in the van, empty cupboards for clothing and kit, then handy clips for bags and rucksacks keeping the ground space free. Waterproof covers are attached to front seats ensuring good maintenance and easy cleaning.

Us

We are an active family of 4 who love the outdoors and all that it has to offer. Gandalf has broadened our horizons on respectfully exploring this beautiful country and already given us precious family times together.

Recent hires feature in our Visitor Book, Gandalf has enjoyed coastal, mountain and loch side trips. We have an Instax mini-printer to print out some pictures to take away…and we would be really grateful if you would stick one into our visitor book along with some notes of your adventures for others to read too.
