Camping is not really in my blood but I can enjoy the simple and the adventurous. My first camping experiences were with the scouts and then the annual Ascension trips to Normandy where we pitched our tent on an uncultivated piece of land owned by our friends.

I, on the other hand, am a true camper. I have always enjoyed relaxing but also adventurous camping. It started as a child when we went camping with the scouts. Later I went with my parents with a heavy canvas tent to France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. For me, camping was mainly about enjoying the atmosphere and the ambiance that a campsite offered us. The peace and falling back on the basics was a return to the essentials for me every year. We have been traveling with the children and the tent for quite a number of years. After a number of years and when the children were away from home, we first traveled around with our backpack in distant countries. But then came Corona. Done with carefree travel, unless you could travel in your own bubble. And was it time for us to switch back to camping? Sure. Then we rented our first mobile home, namely a van. A bit small but it had everything it needed. Unless the weather was bad and then this van was really tight. But we had a taste for freedom there and decided to buy a more luxurious version of a mobile home. In the end, we opted for a mobile home with 5 official seats so that our own children could also travel with their 3 little ones.
