10 days 11 countries and 3000 miles and Arthur didn’t miss a beat. The van set up was perfect for our mountain biking European tour. The pop up roof really does make all the difference in terms of liveability and the solar / battery system took all the hassle out of finding hookups etc. May 2024

The camper was exactly what we needed. Pick up was super simple and easy and having off st secure parking was a huge bonus. The solar panels meant that we never had to worry about power and could charge all our electricals use the internal and external lights in the evening and run the heating on the nights that were a little chilly. We have already booked again for next year September 2023

I recently hired Dexter. As I discussed with the owner, the first night the leisure battery was so low, the heater would not run. After that the smell of diesel was so strong in the van that it was uninhabitable I’m afraid. I only spent one night in it (I was fortunate that my friends had a space for me to stay and that I could change my New Year plans) and even driving it with the windows open have me a headache (sleeping was impossible) I have independent witnesses who will state that the vehicle was uninhabitable if required. I tried to clean the tank several times, but after any period of the doors being closed, the smell was what I consider a health hazard and frankly dangerous. Given that I was only able to spend one of the four hire nights in the vehicle, I believe that the owner or Goboony should offer at least a partial refund of the hire cost. I was also disappointed that having paid Goboony a £54 cleaning fee, that I was asked to pay ANOTHER £50 cleaning fee by the owner. Over £100 to clean a small van that wasn’t even very clean I consider excessive. I welcome your thoughts. January 2022

We had an amazing time with Carol, first time with a camper van, probably wouldn’t have if COVID hadn’t struck, so every cloud has a silver lining. My son bagged the pop up roof area to sleep, he loved it, probably apart from my snoring from below. The van performed above expectations very economical, and it had everything we required. We had a lovely weekend away in Devon after hiring the camper van from Darren. It was a lovely drive as we took the scenic route. The van had all the necessities cutlery, pots and pans, kettle ect that you would need but you would need to bring your own kitchen roll, tea towel, washing up liquid, Scourer ect. The fridge may look small but you can fit a lot in it and would hold enough food and drink for a couple of days. The chairs were easy to fold down to use as the bed and was really comfortable, cosy and roomy. Obviously you would need to bring your own bedding and pillows. The top is easy enough to pull up to reveal a cosy sleeping compartment that includes a soft mattress topper. The surf board table was a really cool touch along with various other little touches. Overall we would definitely recommend hiring the van from Darren, And will be looking to go away in the camper van in the future. If your not much of a camper like me and hate staying in a tent then you should definitely try a camper van as it’s completely changed my mind about camping. Thank you Darren and will definitely be coming back July 2021

We were very pleased with “Arthur”, our campervan for the six days we used him. The van was well kitted out and economical to drive. We had used VW campervans before which was useful as it saved time becoming acquainted with how to use everything. One word of advice would be to know how to change the gas canister and which type of gas to get. Ours ran out whilst we had the van and getting the right gas- Flogas, was a bit of an issue. However, Darren refunded us for the cost when we gave him the receipt so all was ok. All in all, I would recommend Darren and “Arthur” and use them again. July 2021

Darren was really friendl, great communication. We ended up having an incident with a tyre and a windowscreen chip during our hire. Darren was very helpful in getting this resolved with insurance etc. The van Dexter was awesome for the 2 of us, really cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We would definitely recommend Darren and we would like to book again in the future for some more adventures. March 2021

I am sorry to say that due to corona virus and the camper which was booked not being available I am yet to have used any camper I was told by Darren I could change the date and to contact goboony who said that it had already been confirmed and taken so they were unable to change anything and I was to go through darren direct I have messaged but not had a reply I not very happy the way its been handled this is the 3rd time we have had to change the dates which is very disappointing but with everything closed there is little that can be done I asked for refund but told because it was booked before oct last year then I wasnt able to get a full refund this is very unfair as the reason it was cancelled back last year in March was due to the pandemic then again in October and now we are in lockdown yet again so not able to travel and no campsites are open March 2021

Lovely little campervan! Very well equipped and easy to drive. We enjoyed touring around the Jurassic Coast in it and being able to pull up, go out for walks and return for a hot cuppa or meal was brilliant. Set up of the lifting roof was easy and made all the different to cooking in comfort. November 2020

Had a really good trip in Arthur - it was the first time we had done something like this and given the COVID restrictions it was a great way to travel around safely. Darren, the owner of Arthur was very supportive and helpful with a number of minor issues. Very good trip! October 2020

We are giving 1 star because of an unfair conduct from owner. On check out owner complained the toilet tank was not fully emptied. Everything else was fine and he told us we would have had a full refund for deposit, so we left as we live two hrs drive away. Later that evening, we had a text from Darren saying he would charge 100 £ for emptying the toilet tank. We had emptied and cleaned the tank earlier that morning, but due to highly congested traffic, it took us much longer than expected and our 4 yrs child needed toilet. We were 1 hrs late (of which owner was promptly noticed), but on our arrival he was not there and we waited for 1 hrs to check out. Had we known we had all this time, we would have either stopped at a proper toilet, or emptied tank again, rather than doing our best to arrive as early as possible. Camper van itself is decent, but fridge and freezer never worked properly. September 2020

Response from Darren As per our terms and conditions we expect the vehicles to be returned to us in a similar condition that they are collected in. We obviously accept that there will be day to day dust etc. I understand that traffic can be heavy as we are in a very popular tourist area however for you to have filled the toilet to the overflowing level it was returned in, bearing in mind it has a 25 litre capacity, I do not believe this can have been emptied, or cleaned that morning. You did inform me half an hour before you were due to return the vehicle that you were running late, at which point I did inform you I had an appointment at 12.45 that would not take me long. When I returned at 1.15 you were at my property and we quickly began the check-out procedures. The fee I charged you to empty the toilet included the charge I had to pay at the facility I had to take the vehicle to for discharging the cassette, as discussed I do not have this facility at my premises and I declined your offer to empty it into my hedge. I also had to have the toilet, cassette and the area which holds the cassette professionally cleaned as it was not fit to be used, or rented out again without this. I tested the fridge and freezer after you returned it and discovered that the setting had been turned down, this would explain why in the heatwave you were having issues. May I suggest if you decide to hire another vehicle for a trip that you ask the owner, when not sure, how something works. Also please respect the vehicle, as they are expensive vehicles that we are entrusting to you on your agreement to take care of them and treat them well.

The motor home was lovely and functioning well. Sadly when we returned i paid up front for a small piece of damage done by another vehicle during my trip and the owner has not followed through on providing the paper work for me to claim this back from their insurance. Very unfair. August 2020

Response from Darren Hi Alex I have attempted on numerous occasions to send you the paperwork relating to the damage caused during your hire of Finley. I have even sent you a screenshot via text that the email was leaving my account and going to the correct email address for you. I am sorry that you did not receive it as quickly as I had tried but am glad that you confirm you received it eventually. I am glad that you enjoyed your trip in Finley and hope you book him again for another trip.
