The communication with Jessica was very clear and the handover went really well. All features of the van were explained in great detail. We toured the south coast of England, stopping both off-grid and at campsites. Roxie has everything you need for off-grid, including a large fridge/freezer, oven/hob, shower/flushing toilet, hot and cold running water and central heating. The bed is a full sized double and is very comfortable. We would highly recommend hiring out Roxie to take you on an exciting adventure. August 2025

This was our first experience of a motorhome holiday. It was absolutely awesome we had a great time. The motorhome owners Jessica and Gary insured a smooth collection and explained the workings of the van. The motorhome was clean and tidy and was a pleasure to drive. We travelled to north Wales and clocked up a good few miles, taking in Zipworld and both doing the longest zip wire in Europe. We stayed off grid (did’nt use electric plug in)at some beautiful sites with amazing views. The handing back of the motorhome was smooth and uncomplicated. I would thoroughly recommend this type of holiday and indeed using Jessica and Gary’s fleet of motorhomes. June 2024

Wow - what an amazing trip we had in Sparkey! Contact with the owner was brilliant, nothing was too much for them and they were even happy to meet us prior to the rental so I could see 'Sparkey' before picking her up. Being able to keep our van pick in a secure compound while we rented Sparkey was a massive bonus, even giving us an earlier pick time as there wasn't anyway before us which was hugely helpful. Jessica and her husband spent over an hour going through how everything works (maybe the previous renter wasn't listening as all was covered then!). It was so cosy and everything we needed was included - just need towels and clothes. I slept with my 2 children (11 and 14) on the big double bed at the back and my husband had the front bed. It worked really well - and any questions we had during the trip were answered quickly. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sparkey - in fact we are already planning our next trip! Really special memories - happy camping! :-) June 2024

We would love to be able to say that renting Sparkey was a special experience that we truly loved, but regrettably that is not the case. Sparkey was rented to us in defective condition, albeit that the defect in question did not become apparent until a third of the way through the rental. The locks on the side-door to the vehicle failed due to the defect, meaning it was prone to swing open (outwards) at any moment when the vehicle was in motion, as it could not be effectively secured other than by holding it closed by hand from inside the vehicle. When this alarming fault became apparent, we had a very stressful experience, having to drive an unroadworthy vehicle 80 miles, on poor country roads, to our planned destination for that day; the experience totally overshadowing the day. A technician to fix the fault was organised by the owners somewhat begrudgingly and only after prolonged attempts by them to make out to us that the defect was not really a defect, despite us sending them videos showing how the door could not be fastened shut. The technician came out to fix the dangerous fault the following day, however this required us to lose a further half-day of our holiday waiting around for this person to turn up and perform the necessary repairs to return the vehicle to roadworthiness. Tellingly, there was no attempt at follow-up with us from the owners regarding the experience once the issue was resolved or any apology for the inconvenience and stress encountered. We also had other issues with this vehicle. The motorhome has a speed limiting device that was not mentioned to us when we collected the vehicle, which we only found about when it was accidentally activated by one of us inadvertently engaging a control that had not been pointed out to us at the handover. We then found that the vehicle would refuse to accelerate past 28mph as a previous user of the motorhome had set the device at that level and the owners had not cleared this setting prior to passing the vehicle over to us. This led to a very stressful 1-hour journey on a standard A-road rated at 60mph for most of the distance, with a tailback of irritated motorists building up behind the vehicle repeatedly, even though we stopped where possible to allow other vehicles to pass. Probably the most aggravating thing with this motorhome (out of the collection of problems we had with it, not all detailed here) was the fridge, which would regularly malfunction (switching itself off), at least several times - sometimes numerous times - a day, every single day throughout the rental. There were often prolonged periods when on the road where the fridge was non-functional, and this meant that keeping perishable food was not really viable when mobile. This impacted our enjoyment of the motorhome negatively throughout the entire time of renting it, especially as we were in remote areas without plentiful places to buy groceries. All of these issues might have been somewhat mitigated had the owners been pleasant to deal with and acknowledged problems encountered with the vehicle with a degree of honesty, openness and humility, as opposed to attempting to minimise repeatedly the issues encountered and evade any sense of accountability, but regrettably that was not the case. We were obliged to conclude that they are not individuals who readily take responsibility for shortcomings with their vehicle, and certainly not with much grace or a sense of providing a service to users trying to have a quality leisure experience. By the time we handed Sparkey back to the owners, we were more than glad that the experience had come to its conclusion. We would not recommend others take on this vehicle June 2024

Great location near South Coast and South Downs. Very patient as my docs for insurance took a while to retrieve and forward onto Jessica. Cars left in secure gated vehicle park. 10 minutes away Alec at Sands Farm House, Tottington Dr, Small Dole, Henfield BN5 9XZ as well as very helpful a great last night place to stay to empty grey water, WC, and top up fresh water. £20 night with hook up, £16 without. Showers , toilets, washing up facility with Hot water. Lovely dog walks, White Hart pub food good and staff very welcoming and so are 4 legged friends. A first taste of van life, loved it. A great van to drive, park, reverse, economical to run. Weather was sunny, torrential wet spells and windy. Hot water shower and WC was home from home. Excellent fridge with freezer kept ice creams and fish fingers frozen. 1st night at The Tavern Peacehaven right on the sea cliff. Great food, lovely staff, great sea front walks with 4 legged friend. Gratis! Following day onto Brighton, enjoyed some sunshine, Beach walks, some chillin, shopped at Local Lidl. Had a roast at The Walrus, 4 legged friends very welcome too. Parked up Madeira Drive for the night. Great sea view, dog walks on beach, peaceful. Gratis 6pm-10am. Drove upto Devils Dyke, beautiful South Downs National Park. Was great to park up cook lunch Fishfinger buttys n salad have a hot drink until the wild wind and rain stopped. Very busy Pub right there great for a drink to quench your thirst and toilets after a walk. National Trust member free parking otherwise £20 for the day! Loved the freedom of the outdoors and the comforts of having indoors. without any trekking back to accommodation to get changed, get fed, etc. Game changer. Wish I'd tried it years ago. Returned van, cleaned and cleared. Handover efficient. Deposit returned within days. Thank you it was a very positive first Motorhome experience. May 2024

We had a great week travelling to 3 sites in Dorset and were extremely comfortable in the Campervan. Even in October it was a lovely experience. The heating works perfectly keeping you warm, we cooked meals on the cooker, the bed was very comfortable and the rear lounge works a treat. Our experience with Sparky the camper van was everything we could have wished for. Jessica and Gary provided a comprehensive explanation of how everything worked, so we felt fully prepared before we set off. The camper van was beautifully clean, and all the amenities worked perfectly. We were on a trip with two under 4’s, and they were so excited to be in the camper. The toilet was a godsend compared to camping and the sleeping arrangements worked really well. We also had plenty of room for family meals, as well an area to relax and watch TV and play games. As novice camper vanners we found the various operations of Sparky very straightforward (desposing / refilling the water and toilet, operating the heating etc.). All in all a wonderful experience, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jessica and Gary and Sparky. 5 stars! July 2023

This was our first motorhome holiday and the whole experience was fantastic. Jessica was very helpful prior to pick up, answering any questions that we had as novices. This is a superb van. It’s the perfect balance between a smaller Campervan and a motorhome - large enough to have the bed out all the time if you want to and still be able to use the kitchen but small enough to drive around like a normal van. It’s very comfy and has everything you’ll need, including a toilet. We didn’t have an electric hook up on site so couldn’t make use of everything the van had to offer but we really didn’t feel like we missed out on anything. Jessica and Gary look after it very well and are wonderful hosts - very friendly and communicative. Thank you both for making sure we had everything we needed. I’ve hired quite a few campers over the years (mainly to go to festivals in) and this one is definitely in my all round top 5. Heartily recommended. June 2022

The van provided ample accommodation for the two of us and came well equipped with all the essentials we needed - all we brought along was our bedding. Jessica and Gary clearly explained how the van worked and they also provide an information book which was very helpful. The van is really comfortable especially the beds. We liked all the mod cons. I highly recommend renting Sparkey from Jessica and Gary! The motorhome was neat and clean, it was great to drive and the heating kept us nice and warm during the cold April nights. It had everything it stated in the description, we had all we needed to be comfortable on our holiday. The four of us (women) slept comfortably on the double bed and two single beds. We could have converted the two single beds into a large double, but there was no need, as they were wide enough as single beds. The double bed at the front is definitely smaller, but still comfortable for adults with a smaller stature. It was our first time renting a motorhome, Jessica and Gary explained everything in detail and provided a photo manual that made it easy to remember the details. The control panels were straight forward and easy to operate too. Two of us shared the driving, and we both adjusted quicker than we expected. The mirrors are huge and offer a good view, and the camera at the rear is on all the time you are driving, so you can see cars behind you almost as if you were looking in the rear view mirror of your own car. We only came across a couple of very narrow lanes with steep hairpin turns that were tricky to navigate, driving on the motorway, through villages and most country lanes was fairly easy. We had a fantastic holiday and we were very happy with our choice and highly recommend renting Sparkey from Jessica and Gary! April 2022
