Julia and her family were helpful, communicative and thorough in advance, on the day we collected the Landrover, and were available in case we had questions while we were renting it, which really put my mind at ease and meant it all went smoothly. The Landy was the perfect vehicle for driving in the Highlands; narrow for the narrow passes, great tyres for the rough or wet roads, powerful up and down the mountains. The modification was really smart and had been thoughtfully kitted out with everything we needed. We cooked all our meals and made teas & coffees on the stove. There was a nack to getting the bed set up in the pop-up, and for a taller/wider couple it's quite snug, but we also had the option of the third berth, which suited me better. We had such a fantastic time, I'd highly recommend it to anyone. September 2024

We loved our few days with Thumper! Really recommend. Julia was always quick, friendly and helpful with her replies to any questions. Caitlin and David were super friendly and gave a comprehensive handover of Thumper, explaining everything and giving tips/recommendations. Thumper was very comfy, lots and lots provided including pillows and a double sleeping bag, all cookware/cutlery/utensils/plates/mugs, tea/coffee/sugar, stove and gas, table and camping chairs. You just need to bring towels and any extra food/snacks you want! Handback also very smooth and easy. August 2024

The perfect choice for enjoying a Scottish roadtrip! The car runs like a dream and has been fitted out to a really high quality. It deals easily off road, allowing us to explore everything Scotland has to offer. The pop up roof was warm to sleep in and easy to set up which meant we could spend the vast majority of the time travelling rather than setting up. Julia, Caitlin and David were all so helpful at all stages of our holiday which made the whole process super easy. Just wow! If you love defenders and the outdoors this is the vehicle for you. The defender has been lovingly converted into very functional campervan. We loved that it is self contained and when the weather turned we had a warm cosy space to crawl into. A big bonus is that all the extras are included- chairs, bedding, stove, cookware, tea/coffee/oil etc. You can tell that Julia and her family are passionate about their vehicles and I am very grateful that they are willing to share them. We had no problems negotiating the west highland way and the defender felt very much in its natural habitat. It goes without saying that we would rent this vehicle again in a heartbeat. June 2024

We had the most amazing 5-day trip on the north west coast of Scotland in this Land Rover Defender! It was so well equipped with all the camping gear and cooking tools you might need and the set up/take down of the tent box at each stop took no time at all. We picked up the land rover from Julia’s family and they walked us through everything we needed to know about the Land Rover, so we felt very safe and excited for our trip. We drove up the north west of Scotland, and the land rover stood us in great stead for the windy roads and the rain that came later. It’s a really special wee van and we absolutely loved our week in it - perfect if you’re wanting a car with bags of character and a safe and reliable drive. Would absolutely recommend Julia and her family to hire from if you’re wanting to explore Scotland in a cosy camper. It’s small enough to navigate the roads but big enough for a comfortable sleep for two! 🌞 May 2024
