We are David and Ciska, and we love to travel. We have already seen quite a bit of the world, from New Zealand and South Africa to Patagonia and many countries in between. This is our third campervan, and it remains a fantastic way to travel. We personally enjoy touring the Netherlands or visiting the Wadden Islands. Bikes on the back, dog along, and pure enjoyment. But we also find the rest of Europe worthwhile by campervan; Scotland and Norway have definitely been the highlights for us. The Amalfi Coast, Northern Spain, and the Tour de Suisse are high on our wish list. We have also been on winter sports trips by campervan a few times, which is great fun. It not only saves a considerable amount of money but is also very sociable. Baking oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts) outside or having a Winter BBQ, chatting with your neighbors over a glass of mulled wine, and playing games inside. However, what we really like most about campervan travel is the freedom it offers. Bad weather in the North? Then we’ll just head to the South! Are you tired of the spot? Within half an hour, everything is packed and you are on your way to your next destination. And if you see a nice spot along the way? Then just stop for a bit. Enjoying the view with a cup of coffee or a sandwich under your own awning. That is what we consider the ultimate freedom of travel.
