At Goboony, we provide insurance for hiring out your motorhome through our Goboony Day Insurance. Our broker, Riverside Underwriting Limited, ensures the terms remain competitive and works closely with the insurer on service-related matters.
There are three partners involved in the insurance process:
-
Riverside Underwriting Limited — The insurance broker responsible for issuing the certificate of insurance, collecting the premium, and servicing you as a Goboony vehicle owner (the client).
-
First Underwriting Limited — The managing general agent underwriting policies on behalf of Accredited Insurance Europe, the insurer.
- Auto Accident Claims (AAC) — Appointed by First Underwriting Limited to manage claims on their behalf.
How to submit a claim
-Before the start date of your booking, you will receive an email from Riverside with your certificate of insurance. Carefully check that all details are correct, especially the traveller’s information and the insurance period.
-Before your traveller sets off, fill out the online GoForm together and ensure you both sign it.
-When the traveller returns your vehicle, finalise the GoForm with them and ensure both signatures are provided. This must be done together, in person, during the handover.
-If your vehicle is damaged and you need to submit a claim, block the traveller’s security deposit on the Goboony platform. The deposit must be held to support any damage claim. Do not, under any circumstances, release the deposit back to the traveller during the process of your claim. If the cost of the repair is less than the security deposit, Goboony will refund the difference to the traveller.
-After the traveller returns the vehicle, you’ll receive an email from Riverside with a link to their platform. You must complete the form via this link in all cases, even if no damage occurred and no claim is needed.
-If you are submitting a claim, the Riverside form will guide you based on your estimate of the damage:
- If the damage is less than £2,000, do not report it to AAC. The cost will be covered by the deposit held by Goboony, therefore, the traveller's security deposit must remain blocked.
- If the damage exceeds £2,000, Riverside will notify AAC and share the certificate of insurance. You’ll need to obtain a repair quote and send it to AAC. Once the claim is agreed, AAC will pay the repairer directly, and Goboony will transfer the excess to AAC. Therefore, the traveller's security deposit must remain blocked, as this will be used to pay the excess to AAC.
How to get a claim paid quickly
-Obtain full details from the traveller about how the damage occurred. If another vehicle was involved, the traveller should collect the other driver’s details. If possible, ask the traveller for a written statement describing the incident.
-Include clear, detailed photos of the damage when submitting your claim.
-Include the handover sheet when submitting your claim.
-Respond promptly to any questions from AAC.
-Be aware that claims involving a third party may take longer to process.
-If you believe AAC is taking too long, contact Riverside at [email protected] with your concerns. Include your AAC reference number (starting with FUL) and the certificate number in the email subject line.
