Update:
- In April 2025, a new bicycle carrier was fitted to the rear door.
- Ready for the summer season: in April 2025 the camper body inspection was done and maintenance was carried out. MOT and engine maintenance were last done in September 2024.
- In 2024, Freeda got a major upgrade with a new solar panel that generates even more energy, allowing you to go off-grid effortlessly – for days, or even weeks if the sun cooperates. The radio has been replaced by a screen with CarPlay for Apple and Android that connects wirelessly to your smartphone. And she got a brand new sound system with new speakers and subwoofer so you can enjoy your favorite music even louder while driving!
Off-grid:
For the real adventure and ultimate feeling of freedom, we have adapted the camper so that you can effortlessly be 'off-grid' in sunny weather. For example, there are solar panels on the lifting roof and a heavy lithium battery has been built in. We have had an inverter built in to charge your equipment. In addition, there is a Netgear 5G router in which you can place a (prepaid) SIM card yourself, so that you can stay online even in the most remote places. The only thing you have to worry about is finding the perfect spot!
En route:
Driving Freeda is a party because she drives like a big car. She has a manual transmission, with 6 gears and has 140 hp under the hood. You can drive comfortably and consistently with 'cruise control' and safely descending a steep hill can also be done with that function. This makes her drive very comfortable, even in the mountains. Furthermore, the cockpit is equipped with all conveniences: air conditioning, a large media screen with CarPlay for Apple & Android, navigation, rear view camera and radio. In terms of dimensions, it is a large van, so parking in the city center is no problem (but a second pair of eyes helps and prevents problems).
Camping:
Once you arrive at the location, you open the awning, unfold one of the four chairs + table and pour your first glass of wine. You cook on gas, in what feels like an outdoor kitchen, because with the sliding door open you have a wide and unobstructed view. Tired of all the adventures? Push the lifting roof up, slide the blackout down and get ready for a wonderful night. You sleep in one of the two beds, both are big enough for two adults (although it is a bit cozier upstairs with two people than in the spacious bed downstairs). Kids can also sleep safely upstairs because you can stretch the built-in net (from under the bed) down over the exciting opening. I don't have to tell you that waking up at the top of the tent is an experience in itself, especially choose your view..
