The Rimor Koala 50 is a popular campervan body from the Italian manufacturer Rimor, known for its focus on family-friendly and comfortable campervans. This "Koala" model is built on the Ford Transit chassis. This Transit has been fitted with a new engine in our workshop. The software has been optimized, resulting in 180 hp and a sealed EGR. This makes it extremely reliable.
Below is a description of the Rimor Koala 50 camper construction,
Features of the Rimor Koala 50:
* Body type: The Koala 50 is typically an alcove camper. This means that a fixed, spacious sleeping area (the alcove bed) is integrated above the vehicle's cab, leaving plenty of living space inside.
* Target group: This camper is ideally suited for families or larger groups, thanks to the large number of sleeping and seating spaces.
* Layout & Sleeping places:
* Alcove bed: Above the cabin there is a spacious double bed (210-220 x 130-140 cm).
* Rear bunk beds: A defining feature of the Koala 50 is the double bunk beds in the rear, providing at least four additional sleeping places. These beds fold down, creating a large "garage" for transporting bicycles or other bulky items when not in use.
* Dinette/Seating Area: There is a double dinette (two seating areas facing each other), which in many cases can be converted into one or two additional sleeping places, bringing the total number of sleeping places to 6, 7 or even 8.
* Living space: Thanks to the alcove and clever layout, the Koala 50 offers generous standing height (often around 210 cm) and sufficient living space for the whole group.
* Kitchen: A complete kitchen is available as standard, equipped with:
* 3-burner gas stove
* Sink with tap
* Spacious refrigerator with freezer compartment (often on 12V, 230V and gas)
* Bathroom: A compact but complete bathroom includes:
* Cassette toilet
* Washbasin
* Shower facilities (often integrated or a separate shower cubicle)
* Storage space: In addition to the "garage" under the bunk beds, there are several wall cupboards, a hanging cupboard and storage compartments for storing items.
* Technical facilities:
* Water tanks (clean and dirty water)
* Boiler for hot water
* Ring heating (gas) for heating
* Engine air conditioning (for while driving)
* extras such as an awning, bicycle rack, solar panel, reversing camera, inverter, TV + satellite dish
* Dimensions: The Rimor Koala 50 is 7.10 meters long, with a width of approximately 2.30-2.35 meters and a height of around 3 meters. The maximum permissible weight is usually 3500 kg, meaning the camper can be driven with a standard B driving license.
