Comfort and quality are a hallmark of this lovely van, as well as plenty of storage. Converted to the highest standard with some pretty impressive tech, you can stay off grid very easily. Cooking is a breeze, with plenty of prep and storage space, and the van comes stocked with cutlery, crockery pots, pans, utensils and a basic range of teas and coffees, herbs and spices.
It's been a long-held dream to have a campervan of my own, and I purchased it with a legacy from my Dad. When I saw it for sale I fell in love with it, and have enjoyed short trips as well as some longer ones in the UK and Europe. I am looking for people who will appreciate the cozy feel of the van and who will look after her for me, when I'm not able to get away myself. It's perfect for a couple or single travellers. I've been on a few trips now by myself, and these are some of my favourite features:
* Fixed bed - no need to make the bed each night, it's already there, and with the back doors open it's a lovely spot to read or to look at the view. At night, look up at the stars through the skylight, or sleep until you're ready to wake up with the blackout blind in place.
* Being able to stand up - plenty of head room for most people.
* Pull-out table - the perfect solution, giving the van lots of space when not in use, but a good-sized area for eating or working.
* Plenty of light fixtures and charging points.
* Central heating and hot water - so good when the weather turns and you just need to be warm and dry!
* Composting loo - convenience and privacy and no need to get out of the van when staying off grid - an important consideration when I've been travelling alone.
* Storage space - in the van and the boot.
What Evangeline doesn't have
* an awning
* indoor shower/bathroom
Some quirks
* The top drawer doesn't stay shut on journeys - best to keep just the lightest stuff in there.
* The solar panels work to keep the leisure battery topped up but are not able to cope with more than a few days off grid without an electric hook-up boost or a long drive.
* The radio in the cab doesn't work. I've had it looked at but we can't work it out - the rest of the system works to play music or radio from your phone. Similarly I use google maps on my phone rather than the GPS.
