Penthouse 2.0 – Hand Built VW Crafter Off-Grid MWB Campervan

Welcome to my self built home on wheels. If you’re reading this you probably know all about my van and my adventures from social media but if you don’t, hey, hello I’m willem and I self-converted this van into my home on wheels which I lived in full time for 25 months and explored 25 countries solo, so I guess you could say the van is well traveled and tested. It’s not let me down over the last 2 years living inside other than a few small age related mechanical bits, I really couldn’t complain. The van is currently up for sale but I’m renting it out as I build my next van to live in as this funds future adventures.

It features a large 220ah battery system and LPG dual burner hob cooking system with 2 x plug sockets and various usb outlets, 55L fridge freezer and everything else you may need. Lots of garage space for outdoor kit and double Thule bike carrier can be supplied ON REQUEST

THINGS YOU WILL NEED
- Bed Lining / Cushions / Double Duvet
- Cutlery
- Drinking Water

I will provide pots, pans and plates and bowls but would prefer it if people could bring their own cooking utensils / cutlery - the water tank will be filled which is 2 x 25l tanks under sink which neee to be swapped if one runs out. Diesel for the diesel heater will be provided and a full tank of fuel, it’s expected to be returned with a full tank of fuel but not diesel tank or water re-filled.

The van is by no means perfect but it’s very homely, has everything you need for adventures- I have lived for 2 years inside without visiting one single camp site but I must stress this is not the van for everyone as explained below;

- the bed sleeps 2 people UNDER 6ft or 1 person over 6ft diagonally. The bed measures a normal double mattress width but only 5ft 11” in length
- there is no toilet in the van only an emergency collapsible bivvy loo
- the kitchen tap is removable and could be used as a shower outside but water is limited so use accordingly
This van is for those happy to explore without many comforts or wouldn’t be an issue if staying in a camp site.

Only one final thing is the airbag light is on but mechanic was struggling to find the fault. I’ve lived with it 2 years but discretion is advised
