Ik ben met mijn zus naar Schotland geweest. De overdracht werd door iemand anders dan John gedaan, dit ging prima. Het ging wel wat snel allemaal, vooral als je de camper nooit van binnen hebt gezien. We hadden onderweg wat problemen met het gas en John heeft meegedacht en van alles op afstand geprobeerd. Dat waardeerden we echt. Met hulp is alles goed gekomen. September 2025

We had a great experience. John's motorhome was fully equipped and had everything we needed, and coordinating the pick-up and drop-off with Martin and Barry was a breeze. We travelled for four days and didn't have a single issue. I really can't recommend it enough. August 2025

Le camping car est vraiment agréable. Le seul défaut que je pourrais mettre c’est la bouteille de gaz rechargeable. Il n’y a pas de station partout pr la recharger et ça ns a coûté une consigne… Nous étions que 2 mais il est parfait pr être 4. A 6 on serait un peu serré mais c’est faisable. August 2025

From start to finish was an easy process for us new hirers Van was big and beds was amazing and so comfortable, bedding and linen was provided and kitchen was fitted out with everything you need on your trip, And it was spotless clean ! Will definitely recommend John to hire from and will be back ourselves August 2025

Très bonne prise en main du camping car en arrivant et au départ. Nous avons circulé dans tout l'Écosse pendant 2 semaines et sommes allé que 1 fois dans un camping pour laver des vêtements essentiellement. Le camping car loué était maniable, robuste et avec du couple . Cependant un peu vieux et capricieux sur les équipements à l'intérieur. La réserve d'eau mériterait une contenance plus importante. Sinon, parfait road trip ! August 2025

Nous avons pu profiter de notre voyage pendant deux semaines avec le Van bien équipé de John conçu pour les routes d'Écosse L'équipe de John nous a pris en charge aussi bien a l'aller qu au retour c'est un vrai plus Quelques petits ajustements remonter a John pour améliorer encore son Van Mais globalement nous avons pu affronter les rudes routes et le temps d Ecosse sans de difficulté et avec la chaleur humaine des écossais ce qui a permis un séjour et une expérience qui restera innoubliable pour nous Merci July 2025

There were afew small issues wi the house side of the camper but over all the van ran very well, l done alot of niles in it, the guys who handled the take over and return were very good. From the management side, l feel they could have been been abit more sorted. I paid the van in total neally 2 months before l picked it up but was asked afew times again for information that l had already given. Also after l had left tae travel, 2 months after settlement l was sent papers in email tae fill out at van collection., how can l be doing that once lm in a place where who knows where a printer scanner is. That should have been sent out on settlement. June 2025

Our road trip took us through Scotland from Loch Lomond to John O'Groats and back. The initial handover and subsequent return of the van went smoothly with no issues. We did however, have one or two issues with the van: trouble with the Turbo engine which resulted in us having a motor mechanic come out to check it over. The problem wasn't entirely resolved but it didn't impact on our journey as we were able to 'manage' it. Overall, we felt the van was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay in it. John has advised that this particular van is being replaced at the end of this season, so the issues we encountered shouldn't be a problem for others hiring from BOE camper vans. June 2025

The van was amazing from start to finish. The handover was easy and took less than an hour. There was a lot of information but we were so glad it was all in the folder too to make it easy when we were starting our journey (we were 1st time campervanners). The van drove well and the inside had absolutely everything we needed. The heating was great, heated up very fast and made it cosy. The bed was comfier than my bed at home, slept like a queen even in the yellow weather warnings. Communication prior to and during our rent period was fantastic. Very helpful and quick to respond. Next time I would book through their own website instead of Goboony to save some money. Only downside was that the handbrake was broken so we found it difficult to level the van using the wedges when only leaving it parked in gear instead of using the break. April 2025

We booked the Wee beastie for a week and it was an amazing experience! The Van is perfectly suited for 2 people. Large enough to live/sleep dine comfortable, but still small enough to navigate the small roads of the NC500. John and Martin were great hosts and were always reachable for questions and help! Had a wonderful time using Beastie for a week around the NC500. Despite a couple of issues which were met with the utmost care when asked about. Would highly recommend Beastie for a trip around Scotland October 2024

The handover went well, although John wasn't available. Jan talked us through the do's and don'ts although he said that he had never shown this particular campervan before. Fortunately we were with friends that had their own campervan, so they were able to help us. However the manual was really helpful as it's a lot to take in. We travelled to the Western Isles and down to Benbecula. We loved our trip in the campervan so much that we are considering buying one of our own. The van had everything you need, really comfortable bed and very easy to drive. We had our reservations about the bench seats having to be made into the bed every night, however it was worth the effort as it gave us more room during the day. A small doormat would be a welcome addition to help keep the van clean. September 2024

We had a magnificent trip with ‘the beast of the east ‘ campervan of John and Martin. We rented it for two weeks and stayed more than a week on Skye. It is not too big and so suitable for the narrow roads. John and Martin are very friendly and helpful, arranging a late turnover at the start and bringing us to the trainstation at the end. Took van for 10 days to Outer Hebrides - excellent handovers with no difficulties - John and Martin were very responsive to any queries and very helpful. Would have no hesitation in renting the van from them again. July 2024

We took the beast of the east to do the NC500 route and it was amazing. The camper is perfect and genuinely had everything needed to make our trip the best. The bed is very comfy too. I would 100% recommend, John and Martin were great at communicating and were very accommodating. I would definitely use the camper again! July 2024

Had a fantastic week in the wee beastie, travelling down and around England; Beamish, Cheeky Chicken Cottage, Harry Potter Studio Tour London, Diddly Squat Farm, the Cotswolds, Chester Zoo and Blackpool. Great driving van, spotlessly clean, comfy bed and plenty storage. John was lovely to deal with in the booking process and when we went to collect the van Martin was a really nice guy, super informative and really enthusiastic and our trip which was great, got us off to a nice start. Will most definitely hire this van again and would highly recommend anyone to do the same. Thanks guys! June 2024

Kommunikation, Organisation, der campervan - alles war top! June 2024

We had such a great roadtrip with the Wee Beastie! First of all, Martin gave us really nice welcome and all the important information and we got the same treatment also on the return of the van (also his colleague John is a super nice guy!). We did not have any issue with the van, everything worked fine and the equipment was perfect for our roadtrip. Out of 7 nights we only stayed twice in the campings to get the proper shower, empty the grey water and toilet etc. but you could easily stay off grid all the time! If we ever come back to Scotland, we know who to contact;) May 2024

The “Beast of the east” campervans is a little van with all the things you may need during your journey: the kitchen, the toilet and a comfortable bed. The van is equipped with all the stuff you need to cook: plates, glasses and pans. Because of the solar panel on the roof you can do free camping wherever you want . The space inside the van is little, because of its dimensions, but well organized and very comfortable. John and Martin are two helpful and very kind guys who explains to the customers all the procedures to use the van at its best possibilities. They are very helpful in providing all the informations about the van and about Scotland in general. We rented the campervan for a journey of 9 days and we had a very pleasant journey around Scotland. We had an amazing experience with the guys and with the van, in the future we would rent it again. We had an amazing road trip to the highlands with the beast of the east campervan. We were surprised how well equipped and comfortable the van was as they thought about almost everything for the kitchen. The van has many functions such as a cooking plate, a fridge, heater, and a little bathroom. All of it was explained at the beginning and could be read in the welcome pack they gave us. It felt like a rolling home for us. The owners Martin and John are both great and very friendly. They also left us some drinks and snacks for tasting. We recommend BoE Campervans to all adventurers and those who are guaranteed to be some after the trip. Many thanks for giving us the possibility for this trip! May 2023
